fat chick looking for some help?

Okay so Here are my specs I am 19years old, 5ft 6inch Female and I roughly weigh about 180lbs. (i don't own a scale but when i had a physical last I was 180 and my eating habits have not changed since then. it was about 2 months ago.) I would like to try and get into shape by going into a diet. The type of diet program I'm looking for isn't like weight watchers or anything. Before, I began a food journal and wrote in it everyday of what I ate and any activities I did that would be considered exercise. I mostly ate salads and had a low carb diet. I was wondering though, what type of diet should I restart with ? I don't want to take out carbs all together because its unhealthy and I don't eat red meat if at all. Secondly, I would like to lose weight by exercising. I have never been to a gym before and the fitness equipment seem really foreign to me. So I was hoping if there is a good fitness video that seems effective so I can do it at home? Also, what are some healthy exercising at home activities can I do? I would not like to spot train any areas cause I just need the help all over. I'm willing to buy work out equipment except a treadmill, there is no room in my house for it haha.... Can diet pills also be healthy to induce faster weight loss? Which types work the best? last of all, what would be the healthy weight I should reach my goal to? I heard that 140 is healthy for my age and height. Are there any online sites for free that you can use to track your exercise and weight?

  1. The web I gave.. explains all the questions u ask
  2. Look, you're obviously struggling. If you had diabetes, you wouldn't try to treat your problem without help. Go to your doc, and get a referral to a dietician, or go straight to a dietician. With assistance, you can put together a dietary plan that you can live with, tailored to your needs and preferences! Good luck!
  3. Hey! We sound the same, I am almost 21, I am 5'6, 190 lbs and trying to loose weight. (I love my body and am not trying hard to loose weight more just to get fit) Eat what you want, just less of it. That's number one rule! A food journal is great. I heard of a really good "diet" (What you're supposed to eat) just eat one serving of carbs, like anything you want, and then one serving of meat (The size of a deck of cards) and as many fruits and veggies you want until you're full. Drink 1-2 glasses of water before you eat each meal. It makes you feel fuller faster. Plus drink water all day long! Start moving more, even if you don't run or work out, park farther away at the store, or walk to the store if it's close enough. Anything you can get in as extra movement is good. If you walk 3mph for like 30 minutes it's somewhere around 100 calories! So just MOVE MORE EAT LESS! If you go out to eat, put have your meal away for later (doggie bag) and then only eat what's left. Diet pills don't work in my opinion, the only reason they work is because they are said to be used with DIET and EXERCISE, and people never did that before so it works. Plus if you read the bottle most people that loose weight while on that is only like 1-2lbs per person (Because of the diet and exercise). Good Luck! Let me know if you need a motivational buddy, I need one thats for sure! We can chat over e-mail or instant messenger! Oh! As far as exercise, just start slow and walk, walking is actually better than running cause there is less impact on your joints. Swimming, biking, just start slow and don't over do it. Cardio is best for loosing weight. Maybe do some simple push ups and sit ups.
  4. hi:) i think keeping a food journal is a great idea. i do it and i find i don't overeat then. as for not cutting out carbs, thats wise. so instead of having white bread, switch to wholemeal bread, its way healthier and it fills you up. if you drink soda, switch to the diet versions, because the full fat has lots of calories! good exercise you could start with is walking for 40 minutes 5 times a week, it will help you to build up your fitness. good luck:)
  5. So are you ready for a lifestyle change? The best thing I've done so far is I got the "You on a Diet" book. It explains everything from how the body reacts to food and why sometimes people eat when their stressed, angry, bored, etc. It also gives you exercises to do at home and helps with food ideas. As far as carb diets," the reason why so many low-carb dieters lose weight fast is because the lack of carbohydrates causes them to lose glycogen sotres from their muscles, and with this loss of glycogen comes a loss of a lot of water; as soon as they reinstate the carbs, the glycogen comes back to the muscles and attracts the water." that was a brief thing out of the book I was tellling you about. You want to speed walk for at least 30 minutes every day. I've recently started buying organic fruits, vegetables, and meats as well. There are growth hormones injected into them making them get bigger faster and then we turn around and eat the meat and guess what, we're getting the growth hormones too. You should also not weigh yourself and measure yourself instead. I haven't lost any weight, but I've lost 4 inches in 2 weeks. So that's just saying that muscle weighs more than fat and that's why I haven't lost any weight. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!
  6. the healthiest and fastest way ive lost weight is just eating smaller portions and cut way down on junk food i still ate what i wanted, just smaller amounts i worked out at home 3 or 4 times a week, my favorite video was walk away the pounds with leslie samsone it was fun , and works! i also really like denise austin videos, i also kept a journal that really helped me to stay on track. i hope this helps, good luck oh yeah, diet pills dont work and there really bad for you,
  7. Hi ! I have answered this question so many times that I now just copy and paste my story ! If you want to loose fat, I suggest eating a well balanced diet. Grilled or baked lean meats, fruits, fiber, vegetables, water and un - salted nuts. Exercise 5 days of the week, alternating with cardio and strength training. Do not cross out anything from your " diet", save the 2 days that you do not work out for being able to eat junk foods. You will not over indulge, after 2 weeks of eating a well balanced diet, on the 2 off days you have, you will not want as much junk food. I lost 105 pounds in 1 year by eating this way.
  8. As far as a diet and exercise program comes, diet is the most important part. Food is your bodies fuel, so keep it running on premium. You're right that low carb diets are dangerous and diets high in red meat can also be hard on your kidneys. A good weight goal for you to reach would be 135-140 range. But once you get there if you want to keep going it certainly wouldn't be unhealthy to drop 5-10 more pounds off of that. First off create a time goal by the time you want to be at your goal weight (It's unhealthy to be losing more than 3 pounds or so a week so keep that in mind). Once your body starts losing weight it will fight this by making your body more efficient, making it harder to lose weight. This is when diet cannot lead to weight loss on it's own, meaning exercise now becomes the second most important part of your weight loss plan. Also keep in mind that it takes a caloric deficit of around 3,500 to burn just 1 pound of fat. So this thing's going to take a while. 1. Diet! Eat a diet high in protein! Very important. You don't need red meat for protein, fish, chicken, dairy, grains all have good sources of protein. Eat a diet in which grams of protein outweigh grams of fat. Cut refined sugar out (white grains, white rice and such). Drink water. Eat raw veggies and fruit (carrots, broccoli are good, oranges and bananas are also really good). 2. Your BMR (if you exercise 3-5 times a week) is around 2400 calories, meaning your body will burn about 2400 calories everyday. You don't have to go through each activity you do throughout the day and add up all the calories burned. So, with this, if you intake about 1400 calories everyday this will give you a 1000 calorie deficit everyday. With that, you should reach your goal of 140 in about 4 months or so. 3. Exercise!!!! Once you slow eating down to 1400 calories a day your body will respond by slowing your metabolism, eventually making diet pointless. Exercising is our way of reversing this step. 4. If you are open to buying exercise equipment then I would no doubt about it invest in some good weight lifting equipment. Believe me, lifting is the best fat burning workout you can do. Cardio is supplemental to weight lifting and becomes more effective because of a weight lifting program. Lifting will tighten and shapen, also it will increase your metabolism a lot more vs cardio will just burn fat without much long term gain. 5. Exercise as often as possible. And it is very important that you lift BEFORE you do cardio.
