I'm 20 years old and 11 stone, i want to lose weight, going to the gym later, how long on the cross trainer?
How long should I do on the cross trainer? I love the cross trainer and normally do it for about 10 mins twice, then jogging for 5 on the treadmill. I go on the bikes for 5 mins to warm up and 5 mins after to warm down after a session so that I don't get so many aches and pains over the next few days. There's not much else in the gym I got to at the moment but I'm joining another gym soon aver the road from where I work, to go in my lunch hour so are there any other exercises that you could recommend. Also, I have this body glide thing at home, which is like a bike but gives the same sort of work out as a rowing machine, how long should i spend on there each day? Any other exercises or fitness equipment you could recommend? I want to lose at least half a stone by September, but all in all i want to lose a total of 2 stone to get to my ideal weight as I am 5'3"

- Sounds good! But maybe try this instead; Warm-up (Bike); 5 min Stretching; 2.5 mins Treadmill (running); 5 minutes Crosstrainer (gently); 15 minutes Rower; 1000 metres Treadmill (jogging); 5 minutes Crosstrainer (fast); 10 minutes *Toning machines; 10 minutes Warm-down (bike); 5 minutes Stretching; 2.5 minutes *If you don't have time, omit the toning.
- Your exercise regime sounds really good! I'm 20 years old and was 11 stone too (I'm 5'9"), I've lost half a stone since going out on my bike for between 30 mins and an hour every day and one long session in the gym. I'm hoping to get back to 10 stone, or even 9 maybe. I've cut down on portion sizes at mealtimes, eaten bananas as snacks instead of unhealthy stuff and I do some ab exercises. I like the 'bicycle' exercise because you can really feel it working your stomach muscles! http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises.htm I haven't swum in years but that might be good for weight loss too. As for the body glide thing, I'd say spend a few minutes on it, really going for it, have a rest for a minute, then repeat. That'll get your heart rate up.
