What is the best time to buy a television and getting the best deal?

I am planning to buy a 40" HD LCD TV. Initially I planned for during holidays (last week of November to end of December). But my friend advised to buy it just before superbowl to be able to get the best deal. Which one do you think the best time to buy a TV?

1. Your friend is right! January is probably the best time to buy a new TV. Super Bowl sales are awesome. Plus, TV's are expected to drop around 30% next year. The market has become over saturated with HDTV's. TV makers are being forced to lower their prices in order to compete. I recommend you look into getting a Samsung or Sharp LCD.
