Need help with health & fitness.?

I have a hypothyroid so have gained 20 pounds and need to loose it. The problem is when exercising after 10 minutes I get very itchy and then welts appear. This happens within 10 minutes of strenuous exercise. What do you recommed for exercise? Also should I join a gym or get a recumbant bike or exercise equipment for home? Thank you all for your answers! I went to the doctor and I have to premedicate with Clariton prior to exercising. I have exercise-induced anaphylaxis. I didn't choose a best answer because they were all great!

  3. You may need to see a doctor regarding the welts and itchy when sweating. Sounds like you're allergic to your exercise clothing. Try to wear 100% cotton fabrics when exercising. I prefer a gym if you can afford it because you will be motivated. I like college gyms since they tend to be cheaper than the national gyms.
