At home leg exercises for running?

My legs aren't very strong (I can only run for half a mile before they get tired and I have to walk) So what kind of leg exercises can I do at home/outside (since i don't have access to any fitness equipment) to make my legs stronger so I can run further? (any other tips on how I can run longer would be appreciated =)

  1. Usually for myself try to make an effort to get to the gym. Though have some workouts can do at the house. Http://www.runnersword.com has some great tips. Also if you can find any type of Pilate's or yoga videos that be helpful as well.
  2. im a pro jogger and to tell you the truth, you dont need any leg excercises except running. i use to be like you and i just got a timer and just timed myself to see how far i ran before i had to walk. then just watching the timer itself your brain just tells you to run more. its not you legs. its your cardio endurance. only leg excercise i would do is bend your knees all the way down and try to walk. ull look funny, but u can feel the burn... IT HURTS. but the pain could be worth it. hope this helps!
