- Id return if i were you. Everything electronics at costco is atleast 1 generation if not 2 behind. And that in electronics is HUGE. Vizio is not the best brand not even close. Not trying to diss but u need to get a brand name TV. For a few reason, 1 Latest Generation tech including the newest panel, newest connections for HD and usually a MUCH MUCH better picture quality. Id also suggest reading a better review magazine such as Sound&Vision or HomeTheatre Magazine.
- i sell those at work. if it advertises a 60,000 hour panel life you'll be OK if it does not it might be the old generation of plasmas that burn out in 5 or 6 years. vizio makes good products we have a plasma 50 inch for about 2200. with a 60,000 hour panel life. the new ones generate less heat and won't burn out so fast. if you are a gamer as i am I'd get an LCD.
- I've read some pretty good reviews of the new Vizio Plasmas. Check out the May issue of Sound and Vision magazine at your library. They liked the set a lot and proclaimed it a very good value. The major brands...Panasonic, Sony, Pioneer, etc...are generally considered a bit superior. I just bought the latest 42 inch Panasonic Plasma (42PX60) which is one of the highest rated and most popular plasma sets on the market. Panasonic can't keep up with the demand and they are back ordered even on the Panasonic website! I paid $2199 for it (list is $2499)...only $300 more than the Vizio. I absolutely love the set! HDTV is stunning and widescreen DVDs look amazing. I would go for a major brand if you can afford it but consider the Vizio if you are on a budget. Who knows if Vizio will even be around or how hard it will be to get warranty or non-warranty service for it down the road? Of course Costo is very good about taking care of customer satisfaction. You probably made a good purchase. Enjoy your new TV!
