Is it alright if I only use St Ives Apricot Scrub exfoliator for my daily face clean routine?

My current routine up till now has always been to cleanse my face with Clearasil's Daily Cleansing Foaming Wash then exfoliate with Clear and Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub. Finally I appy Ponds moisturizing cream (the blue one). I've recently gained quite a bit of acne on my forehead and as I'm continuing my daily face cleaning routine I anticipated for results but nothing has come of it till this day. I don't think the Clearasil product does anything for me. I hear that St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead is an exfoliator that helps people's acne. I'm ready to dump the Clearasil product but I'm not sure about the Clean and Clear exfoliator I've been using up till now. On Makeupalley, I've read several positive reviews but if I buy the Apricot Scrub, it would be my substitute exfoliator right? I'm not sure what's a very good cleanser out there that I could use for acne so I'm really confused. What's an excellent acne removal cleanser by Neutrogena that will surely deliver results?

  1. I would not use it everyday, it might make your skin irritated and red, I really love the pink grapefruit cleanser from Neutrogena. And there acne scrub is fab!! I also recommend to fill a bowl with some steaming water (and some dried rose, or lavender) and put a towel over your head, and but the towel over the bowl and let the steam open your pores and the scrub for better, longer lasting results... Good Luck!! (also adding a toner on your face before moisturizing helps clean and disinfect future acne)* * Neutrogena's acne stress toner rocks!!!
  2. ok well if only using the st ives works for you then thats just fine to have just that item in your routine. but you should only exfoliate about once a week, it can be rough, harsh, and irritate your skin if you do it daily. that might be making the acne worse. the apricot scrub is a type of exfoliate and works well too, but like i said id use it weekly. youll get better results that way. if you wear makeup or put lotions on, make sure they are oil free and non-comedogenic (which means it will not clog your pores). this will also help to relieve acne prone skin. you could try the ance free kit, it does work well and its nice because it comes with everything you need (cleanser, toner, and lotion) so it is convenient. you can get it at walmart or any drug store. http://www.acnefree.com/node/20 for neutrogena products i love the oil free acne wash pink grapefruit facial cleanser. it works so well to clean and clear your skin up. plus it makes it super soft and smells amazing. http://www.neutrogena.com/product/cleansers/oil-free+acne+wash+pink+grapefruit+facial+cleanser.do?sortby=nameAscend my skin tends to be a little dry so after i wash i like to use a light face lotion on it. again make sure it is oil free and non-comedogenic. i like either the neutrogena healthy skin face lotion spf 15 http://www.neutrogena.com/product/moisturizers/facial+moisturizers/healthy+skin+face+lotion+spf+15.do?sortby=bestSellers neutrogenas rapid clear acne defense face lotion is a great moisturizer to use to also help to clear acne. id recommend this if you are having a lot of trouble with acne. http://www.neutrogena.com/product/moisturizers/facial+moisturizers/rapid+clear+acne+defense+face+lotion.do?sortby=bestSellers&page=2 or aveeno clear completion daily moisturizer. i personally love this product because it evens out you skin tone, smooths texture and fights acne. http://www.aveeno.com/facialcare/clear-complexion-moisturizer all of these are oil free, non-comedogenic, and feel nice and light on the skin. i would try one face wash and one lotion and then do your exfoliating once a week and you will see results quickly and notice your skin has improved. hope this helps you :)
