Which piece of exercise equipment is best for me?

I'm thinking of buying one piece of exercise equipment to put in my room, i'll use it for about 45 minutes a day. What i really want is to lose fat from my legs and tone up, but i don't want to become really muscly and bulky, i just want to be think and toned. I was thinking about buying either a cross-trainer, a bicycle or a treadmill. Which one would be more effective?

  1. Bicycles and elliptical machines are low-impact and will not be as hard on the knees as a treadmill or jogging. Word of advice, you get what you pay for. Don't go broke buying a machine but neither should you get the cheapest thing out there.
  2. The tread mill and bicycle are very effective for legs :) they both tone but bicycle helps thigh muscles more.....so its up to you whether you prefer cycling or running ?? :)
  3. What you could consider is buying a set of dumbbells. They can be used to train many parts of the body and they will take up very little room, just put them under the bed after a session. They won't help loose much fat though you could go the cheaper option and take up jogging. Also, look into changing your diet, no point doing a run every day and carrying on putting the same crap into you.
