What is the best wireless satellite laptop card buy for my money?

My boyfriend is at AIT training and I'm trying to find out which card is the best buy for my money. He needs one of those cards that you put into your laptop that will give you internet where ever you are. Please post the average price for different service providers and you experience with them.
