Can I transfer the Best Buy protection plan from one product to another?

So my iPod Touch was stolen (I know you can't trust anyone these days). Anyhoo it had the best buy protection plan and I am planning to by an iPod Touch in the next few weeks and want to use the protection plan of the stolen ipod on the new iPod. Is this possible?

1. When did you purchase the original iPod touch? What I would recommend is returning the PSP and repurchase it. This way your protection plan will start again with your purchase. If you do decide to return the original PSP then it will be pro-rated based on the amount of time you've had between the original purchase date and today. If this is not an option talk with the Rep II at the store and asked if they can switch the plan over to the new serial number in "Green Screen". I've never had this come up, but it never hurts to ask.
