How long does it take for Best Buy to get back you on your job application?

I applied for best buy online about a week ago, but I still haven't heard from them. How long does it usually take for them to receive your application and review it? What should I do?

  1. If I were you I would call to see where it is in process. This will show them you have initiative and are willing to work for what you want. If you like my answer please visit my blog: http://joshssimplelife.wordpress.com/
  2. Call them and ask them where do you stand?
  3. Call and ask for the hiring coordinator. They can look at your application and let you know what's going on. It only takes a few hours to show up in the online hiring system. If you didn't score high enough on the personality quiz, your application is automatically deleted by the system, but they will still be able to see you applied. They just won't be able to contact you about a job if that's the case. A lot of times it depends on what you put down for what position you want if you will get called or not. Whether the store needs that position right then. Also, Best Buy rarely hires anyone new to be full-time, as all full-time jobs are posted for those already working there. Most stores won't hire people who only want to work for the summer either...it's just too costly to train someone to work 2 or 3 months a year. I work at a Best Buy in a smaller market, and we get about 5 applcations a day that pass, and they are held for 45 days, so there is a lot for the hiring coordinator to look through. And even though that is their job, they still have another area in the store where they work, so not all their time is put in looking at applcations. Good luck!
