Can you answers these cell question for background research on my science project?

Why do some parts of a plant don't have chloroplast? What is a semipermeable cell membrane? what is the cell wall of a plant made of what does it do for a plant or a consumer? Why do baby chickens die if there is a tiny pinhole on the cell membrane? what part of the cell digests damaged cells? what is the difference between cheek cells and onion cells? what in celery helps you loose weight and not gain? thanx alot to who ever answers!

  1. A semipermeable cell membrane is a cell membrane that allows some substances in but not all. The cell wall of a plant is made of glucose. It retains the shape of the cell for the plant. The lysosomes digest damaged parts of the cell. I THINK flavones (a photosynthetic pigment) helps you lose weight, I'm not sure.....Flavones DO have health benefits though.
  2. 2. The cell membrane discriminated which molecules can enter the cell, depending on their size, only small molecules can enter naturally, large molecules must be pulled in by transport proteins. 3. Cellulose - It gives the plant its structure and a protective barrier from the outside world. 4. I'm guessing because it will allow foreign molecules in that will destroy the cell. 5. Lysosomes recycle waste and damaged cells. 6. Onion cells are plant cells while cheek cells are animal cells, onion cells, however, do not contain chloroplasts like most plant cells because they get their nutrients directly from the soil. 7. They contain no calories, as well as a lot of fiber.
  3. -Certain parts of a plant do not have chloroplast because certain parts do not receive sunlight (like roots) and therefore having chloroplast would be useless and can take up ATP (energy) that can be used for other functions. -A semipermeable cell membrane is a membrane that contains proteins that select which molecules/compounds (such as lipids, carbs) can enter and exit -The cell wall of a plant is made of cellulose and it holds the plant together and protects the cell. -Baby chicken die if there is a tiny pinhole on the cell because the things in the cytoplasm can escape through the pinhole -Lysosomes contain digestive enzymes that can digest cells -cheek cells are animal cells and onion cells are plant cell Onions do still have chloroplast because they have green leaves proving they have chlorophyll since chlorophyll stores green pigment and we see that green pigment -celery DO NOT help you loose weight, although high in fiber, it does take more calories to digest celery than the amount of calories celery has, it is a myth but fiber does help you stay on track when you are trying to loose weight. There are still calories in onion
