Consumers Digest

How to stop unwanted mail from Readers Digest?

Has anyone else been pestered by the Readers Digest with supposedly "free" things and competitions and if so, how did you get rid of them? I have already asked them not to send me any offers, as I am not interested, but I have had a few "free" things sent - two books and even an Orchid! I wouldnt mind, as they dont have my bank details and i certainly dont intend on sending them any money. I thought it all seemed quite harmless until recently they enclosed a "bill" for £17.99 . . . with no explantion of what it was for. I am waiting to hear back from Consumer Direct, but just wonder if anyone here has had a similar experience. I would obviously like to ignore the "bill", but am I somehow legally bound to pay it somehow? Any advice greatly appreciated guys, many thanks xx

  1. I know EXACTLY what u mean....Out of the blue from no where, I received a readers digest without even asking for it...the next I know that started sending me invoices and threatening me with legal action and debt collectors and all this bull.... I suggest u consult the citizens advice bureau if they won't leave you alone....
