How much does the store Best Buy charge to tune an acoustic guitar?

I bought an acoustic guitar from Best Buy yesterday but I need it to be tuned, so it sounds normal when I play it. Does anybody know how much they charge to tune it? Thanks. Best answer gets 10 points.

  1. One of the things you're going to need to learn is how to tune the instrument on your own. You can pay Best Buy to do it, but the guitar is going to be out of tune again in a week or two. The easiest way to tune is using a digital tuner, but you can also learn to tune by ear as well. Check out this free lesson: http://www.findguitarteachers.com/lesson-1-tuning-your-guitar.html
  2. I don't think they offer that service. What you really should do is get a tuner (a good investment anyway) so that you can do this yourself. Tuning is an important part of learning the guitar and perhaps the first lesson you can learn. The strings are tuned EADGBE. The lowest string (the thickest) is the low E. When holding your guitar its the one closest to your head. The one after that is A. The high E is the thinnest closest to your feet. A tuner can be aquired at any music store. Best Buy will likely carry them as well. I've included a youtube lesson at the bottom explaining tuning to you.
  3. what the heck? Best Buy? are you kidding me? 1. best buy is not in the business of tuning guitars 2. you need to get a tuner 3. you need to learn to tune it by ear. 4. you should never pay for your guitar to be tuned, that is like paying for air or water.
  4. weird, i've never heard of best buy doing that. Don't pay for them. buy a guitar tuner, they are probably around 15-20 bucks? i got one when i bought my first guitar as a begginer and it was super easy to tune it.
  5. Yeah, you need a guitar tuner. And not an electronic tuner, but this 6-note pipe you blow to get proper tones. It's one of the best ways to develop some hearing in the beginning. And, yes, a guitar gets out of tune after a few hours, if it's constantly played, but this highly depends on the quality of strings and the very guitar.
