When is the best time to buy pistachio nuts?

When are pistachio's in season? when would be the best time to buy when they are most tasty? And anyone have any recommendation where they sell the best tasting pistachios?

1. At my wholesale grocery store, they sell huge plastic jugs of Sunkist shelled pistachios. It is amazing because you can just enjoy the nut without having to shell :) As far as the other details, sorry I'm not too keen on nut shopping :(
2. Local nuts will come into season in the fall.
3. When you have the money...Went to Giant Eagle today...They had big plump, Pistachios today! 3/16/08 Cleveland Ohio.
