Does any home improvement center have any tan 3 tab shingles for free or at a really low price? I AM A PERSON ON LOW INCOME AND I REPLACED 1/2 MY HOME'S ROOF 2 YEARS AGO BUT I NEED TO REPLACE THE REST OF IT THIS YEAR. 2 YEARS AGO I PAID $600.00 FOR JUST THE SHINGLES ALONE AND ANOTHER $1700.00 FOR THE LABOR OF 1 MAN TO DO THE WORK. I DON'T HAVE THE LUXURY OF HIRING SOMEONE SO AM GOING TO HAVE TO DO THE WORK MYSELF. ANYONE OR AN ORGANIZATION WHO COULD HELP, FOR FOOD AND DRINK, WHILE DOING THE WORK WOULD SO APPRECIATED. ANY HOME IMPROVEMENT CENTER WHO COULD DONATE PARTIAL OR ALL OF THE MATERIALS I WOULD NEED WILL BE SO APPRECIATED.
Should I get home improvement loan or refinance with cash out? I want to refinance my home to take advantage of lower interests rates. I also want to renovate my house since it has severe structural problems. Should I refinance and get cash out to use for home improvement or should I refinance without cash out and get a separate home improvement loan? What is the difference between the two scenarios?
Where should I look for a home improvement loan? We are looking for a home improvement loan to start a couple of projects on our new home. The loan amount should be something around $15,000 to $20,000 with a low APR. Any suggestions on where to look? We're in Indiana.
I am severly obsessed with Home Improvement? Help please, I am severely obsessed with the tv show Home Improvement, to the point where it is interfering with my life! I have to watch it every single day or else I sink into a pit of deep despair. If I am not doing something Home Improvement related I am severely depressed. Next week I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to get a fence surgically attached to the lower half of my face so I can be like Wilson. What can I do? Help!
Home improvement programs? I have been searching the web, does anyone know if there are programs that help people with low income make home improvements to their homes.
Which home improvement retailer is better Lowe's or Home Depot? I've always like Lowe's better. The service is better and it's cleaner. Plus they price match if anyone has a lower price they will beat it by 10% or match it exactly if its a sale. But I was wondering what everyone else thinks... what do people see in Home Depot?
What Home Improvement episode was this? Hi, I remember about five or six years ago I saw an episode of Home Improvement where Tim was going to go get a physical. When he entered the doctor's office, the doctor was Wilson! He had a surgical mask on over the lower half of his face. Heidi ho, Tim, I think Wilson said. Then he said we're going to do a pap smear Tim. Tim began to scream and when Wilson finally gave him the smear, he made that silly grunting noise he makes. Does anyone know what this episode was called? Have you ever seen it?
Military Home Improvement Loan? I need to make some improvements on our house. Potentially a new roof and some new windows and doors. I'm trying to find a decent military loan, but all I seem to come across are VA loans, and I don't think we qualify for those, because my husband isn't a veteran. He's active duty Army. Does anyone know any reliable sites/sources for a military loan or any other type of home improvement loan with low rates. Also, would those type of improvements qualify us for the tax breaks Obama put into effect? Would we get any sort of tax refund for a new roof/windows/doors? That would be an energy effective thing, wouldn't it? Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. This is definitely not my area, it's my husband's. But he's not available to help with ANY of this right now. Thanks!!!
Are there any kind of home improvement services for low-income people under the age of 55? that include plumbing, preferably in Texas. the plumbing in the house is shot to shit and my mom is unable to pay for it due to only part-time employment. I'm only a part-time student worker in nursing school, and even though I would like to help out, I really can't. We have to poop in a camping toilet, which is very embarrassing. I know some of the elderly people in out neighborhood get volunteer type services to do stuff on their home, but I don't know how many of those kind of services are available. I forgot to add she has not so good credit
any home improvement services in houston? A friend of mine is totally disabled and is getting worse and I was wondering if there is any organizations in the houston area that can provide help with a walk in tub or shower and making the house wheelchair assessable. She is on SSD and a very low income and cant afford to do it herself.

I need to fix my house: Should I refinance and get cash out or get a home equity line of credit? Should I get home equity line of credit or refinance with cash out? I want to refinance my home to take advantage of lower interests rates. I also want to renovate my house and fix some things around. How do I qualify for a home equity loan line of credit? I need money for home improvements, and I also want to get my mortgage payment lower. I bought this home in march 07, and I have made minor improvements, but the house needs improvements. If there are any real estate pros out there with some good practical advice please expound on this topic. Also, I have paid off some credit card debt since I bought the house, so I think my credit rating is better.
Federal Grants for home improvement.....? I asked this in another catergory and figured that maybe I had it posted in the wrong spot.... I see advertisements for federal grants that do not have to be paid back that are for everything from small business funding to home improvements. I was wondering if anyone has ever received a grant for home improvement and how you apply and/or qualify to receive one. Basically, how do I get one to do home improvements and renovations?? ps... we aren't low income but not high income either, don't know if that makes a difference.
Home Improvement Loans In Mississippi? Can anyone tell me or lead me in the direction of getting my home fixed for little or nothing or any other programs that helps low-income, disabled, or elderly persons in Mississippi ?
Maybe this Country, needs Tim Allen, with his "Home Improvement"? Everyone remembers Tim Allen's grunt, on his T.V. show, "Home Improvement". We all remember that he was always thinking that the solution to EVERY Problem, was ,...... (that's right) MORE POWER! I've always felt that Power comes from our Voices at Election Time. Yet, there are very few Proud Americans, who exercise the Right. And our Angry Politicans are proof that our Voice is getting smaller & smaller. Question: Do you think, this Nation needs "More Power"? More power from our voices, through our Votes? Not let some attitudes on this Web Site. Be reason to lower ourselves to arguing, like our Elected Officials do? We should be better than them. Let's speak with The Rights that we have. What is your solution, to giving this Country, "More Power"? And not have this "Name-n-Blame Mentality". Be the way things get done. Everyone! Earl has brought up a point. But wouldn't our Representatives take our lead. Through us showing up at voting time? Which goes the the source of this question.
What is the difference between a mortgage and a home equity loan? I own a home that is paid off but would like to take out a loan to fund some home improvements as well as help my parents pay off their home equity loan. Given this scenario can I take out a mortgage since mortgage rates are lower or am I limited to a home equity loan. I'm not interested in HELOC's.
Does lowering your credit limit lower your credit score? I already have several credit cards. I want to lower the limit on one (which I have used for several years) from 13000 to maybe 3000 or 4000. Also I want to cancel a credit card (2500 limit) which I have never used. Will doing either of these things lower my credit score? I am planning on doing this because I want to get a different credit card for home improvements (lower interest), and I want to make sure that I wont be denied because I have to much credit for how much I make. Obviously, if my credit score goes down... that wont bode well for this endeavor either. Thanks in advance (and please only answer if you know what you are talking about) I only have about 500 on the 13000 credit card. I also have a 6500 credit card, but I can't cancel that one (even though I haven't used it) because it is a dental credit card. My total available limit right now is around 20000. I certainly wont use it all... but we are fixing up our kitchen and want to get a specific credit card with no interest for a year. I don't make much money, but I wont be the only one paying this off, I just have the highest credit score (i believe its 765)
What are the LEAST expensive home improvements? If I were wanting to improve my home so that I have a better chance of selling it, what are the LEAST expensive types of improvements I can make? I know that there are things like painting that can be done. But if I wanted to go a little bit further, what else would you suggest for the lowest total cost?
Are the Government grants for home repairs and starting up businesses a scam ? Really need to get some home improvements. I live in Philadelphia and everything I need to get done is in the low thousands and I would really like to apply for a Gov. grant if I knew they were legit and could really help. I just don't want to waste my time applying and find out its a scam since they ask for cash to even download the info to apply for the grant.
Where can I find information about federal or state grants for home improvements? On the radio this morning, in St. Louis, I heard that you can get federal or state grants (NOT a loan - they clarified) for home repairs by looking at economic grants. The woman said that the government has these grants because they provide work to people and improve communities. She said you don't have to have a low-income and that the only requirement is that you live in the house for at least two years (or move out within two years, something like that). I cannot find this information anywhere. Can anyone help direct me to the right website?

Priorities for home improvement in older home? There are a lot of little projects that I would like to do in my home. It was my mother-in-law's home so I would be able to know the history going back 30 years. How should I prioritize the following projects (especially if we plan on living in the home between 5-10 years)? -9 Replacement Windows (currently very drafty single-pane, wood frames) -A friend mentioned that the home's insulation may be shot (not sure) would this be a better investment than windows? -Bathroom (sq. footage unknown but not very large, I would say 8ftx6ft space includes sink/tub/toilet & small built-in cabinet) -Kitchen (again, sq. footage unknown but cabinets are 30+ years old and there are only 3 lower cabinets, 2 small drawers and very little counter space) -Landscaping
Best way to finance home improvements? Bought my house about 7 months ago on a 100% financed mortgage with an unbelievably low interest rate, so I want to avoid refinancing. I don't think i can do a home equity loan because I have little to no equity since i did the 100% finance. Any ideas? I need about 10000 - 15000 for new siding work.

Can I get a loan for more than just the mortgage (for home improvements)? If I recall correctly, a bank will only issue a loan for as much as a home is worth. There's a foreclosure in our neighborhood that no one touched while the seller had it on the market... honestly, it's ugly - aluminum siding, brick veneer, and the layout of the house is odd, but we've decided we can make it work. Anyway, since it didn't sell, that owner had it seized by the bank. My husband and I want to make a low offer on it, and maybe get financed for an extra $20k in home improvements (even this would still put our loan quite a bit lower than the home's appraisal value). Do banks do this? We're qualified for FHA financing, but we can also put 10% down alternatively.
I need to fix my house: Should I refinance and get cash out or get a home equity line of credit? Should I get home equity line of credit or refinance with cash out? Taking out a loan for more than the house you're buying (for home improvements)? I asked this late last night/early this morning, but it looks like all my responses were spam :( Anyway, if I recall correctly, a bank will only issue a loan for as much as a home is appraised for. There's a foreclosure in our neighborhood that no one touched while the seller had it on the market... honestly, it's ugly - aluminum siding, brick veneer, and the layout of the house is odd, but we've decided we can make it work. I have a rather large home equity line of credit debt.? We used 98 thousand out of 120 thousand line of credit to do major home improvements. We are very happy with the improvemnts but now have about 700 dollars per month in interest only payments. My husband wants us to also have a savings account filled up with funds in case of emergency. I think we should dump any extra money into the home equity debt which will SLOWLY lower our debt and payment amount. Then, if we ever have an emergency we could draw from the home equity loan. What do you think we should do?
