What's the safest home exercise equipment when you have very young children in the house? When one has young children (under the age of three), one obviously ends up spending a good deal of time at home & it's difficult to get to the gym. So any recommendations for exercise equipment I should buy? I'm definitely getting a treadmill. And I want something for crunches and stuff but I don't know what to buy for that. Anything else I should look into?
What do you call that exercise equipment that works like a stand up bicycle? The feet go in a pedal motion.? I have an old DP Fitness for Life Air Strider. I call it a stand up bicycle, since their is no seat. On it, my feet go around in a pedal motion. For my arms, I hold on to two levers (handles) that go back and forth and enable my arms to make the same motion I would make if I was running. The whole exercise seems equivalent to jogging without the impact that you would get on the ground. I really liked this machine, but it is now worn out. What do they call this kind of exercise equipment today? Where can I get a good deal, possibly factory refurbished? Thanks!

On top of it all I work at a desk job so I don't get any physical exercise during my work hours either. If I came up with a great infomercial for free weights, a weight bench, dumbbells, an exercise mat, and a video to tell you how to use all of this, would I be able to make money? Or does every piece of exercise equipment need to have a gimmick if it wants to sell via infomercial?

What is some effective (preferably cheap) compact exercise equipment? I don't have much space in my house, definitely not enough for something like a running machine/treadmill. What is some good equipment which takes up very little room but is still effective. I am aiming to lose weight and tone up so I need something which will help me to do both of those things. Please recommend things which are affordable, I'm a student currently so money isn't in great supply. I generally want something which is useful for exercising my stomach, chest and back muscles.
If I have room for just one piece of exercise equipment, what should it be? I'm 47, female, and need to lose about 60 pounds. I prefer working out indoors, as I'm prone to joint inflammation flare-ups. I have space for only one medium to large-sized piece of exercise equipment. What would be best considering that (genetically) I already have a fairly high muscle to fat ratio, my weight is almost totally between my gut and my knees, and I'd like to retain as much of my small bustline as possible?

Which piece of exercise equipment is best for me? I'm thinking of buying one piece of exercise equipment to put in my room, i'll use it for about 45 minutes a day. What i really want is to lose fat from my legs and tone up, but i don't want to become really muscly and bulky, i just want to be think and toned. I was thinking about buying either a cross-trainer, a bicycle or a treadmill. Which one would be more effective?
What's the best way to exercise and "get results" without equipment? Many exercise equipments are expensive. Treadmills, weight lifts that focus on more than just the arms, stuff like that cost hundreds of dollars. I was wondering what is the most effective way to gain muscle without having to buy something. I mean, there's always sit-ups, push-ups, and walking/jogging. But what else can I do? I live near a track that's open to the community, if that makes any difference. Thanks.
1 piece of Exercise equipment behind the couch? What single piece of exercise equipment, to be kept behind the couch, (there is a 4 foot space between couch & wall), would be most efficient at lowering blood pressure & blood sugar. Oh & it must be simple to use for the inept, so don't suggest rowing machine we are not that coordinated. We can walk about the neighborhood so I don't think a walking machine would be most efficient use of space or money. Should it be the stairs, (non in my home), that skiing thingy? Or something else? This is to lower blood sugar & blood pressure, losing weight is secondary concern.
Going to buy some exercise equipment need help? I'm going to buy some exercise equipment at target and i have no idea what to get. I want to lose weight and fat around my butt, thighs, and stomach. Best Exercise Equipment for Weight Loss? I am looking into buying a treadmill or an eliptical, and was wondering which would be the best one to get for someone who wants to lose weight in the belly, upper legs/thighs and the behind? I dont want to spend more than $500. I am also open to any ideas you have on other exercise equipment that would help with what I want to do.
The name of breast lifting exercise equipment? My boyfriend and I saw a piece of exercise equipment on tv and neither of us can remember the name of it. It basically looks like a long pole. You hold each end with one hand and push toward the center of the pole. There is a spring in the equipment. What it amounts to is it is supposed to lift, separate, and increase the size of your boobs by building up muscle behind it. I'm not asking for exercise tips or even asking if it works. Just the name please!!
What exercise equipment should I buy next? 50 year-old male uses a treadmill (almost) daily. I want to lose weight and get rid of my gut. What piece of exercise equipment should I buy next? It's going in a semi-finished basement with a 7 1/2 foot ceiling (so a trampoline is probably out...) I'd like to keep the cost of the new or used equipment under $250.
What exercise equipment should I buy? I would like to purchase one piece of exercise equipment for home use that would give me the best cardio workout. Thank you
Do you need exercise equipment mat if you have a carpeted floor? I just bought a used Gazelle (exercise machine). The lady I bought it from had it on a mat in her basement. I have the machine in a room with carpet, should I get an exercise mat? Does the mat only protect against scratches and scuffs on hard floor surfaces?
Where can I find exercise equipment built for very heavy people? I am a very heavy person, right now I weigh a little over 400lbs. I have decided to make a change and start exercising. I have been looking into different exercise machines but I haven't been able to find any that can handle my weight. Most have a weight limit of 250-300lbs. Is there anyone else out there who might have had this experience and could give me a few pointers on where to look. Also I am wondering what would be the best type of exerciser to get to burn fat. I know cardio machines are built for that but there are many types and one that wouldn't be hard on my knees would be great.
What I should do about faulty exercise equipment that caused me to sustain an injury.? I purchased a peice of exercise equipment ten days ago, the manufacturer offered a three year parts and labour warranty on the item. After thee days it developed a minor fault which was recitified with raplacement parts, which I fitted. Is it ok for my heart rate to spike when walking quickly on exercise equipment? I am a 24 year old female (smoker). Resting, my heart rate is about 80bpm. As soon as I start briskly walking at the gym, my heart rate spikes up to about 160-180. I do not break a sweat, get short of breath, or tired, but I always stop exercising because I feel like it is unsafe for my heart rate to increase so rapidly without any strenuous exercise.
How are "Calories Burnt" calculated by exercise equipment? I know that that the "Calories Burnt" on exercise machines are innacurate due to many variables which are not taken into account. However, I am curious as to what is the original formula they base it on. Meaning how does walking for an X distance, for a Y amount of time translate into a Z amount of calories burnt?
What one exercise equipment that is best other than treadmil? I have a cyclo-simulator with my mountain bike on it, an elliptical machine, and a treadmil. I can't do treadmil due to my bad knee. I'm getting tired of my ellipticals and the bike. I'm a hard core aerobic exerciser. Any ideas on other types of equipment other than treadmil?
