How much pay should I request at Lowes Home & Improvement if I have 2 years of customer service? I am going in for an interview this week and have 2 years of customer service experience. Also I did inventory work at a retail store for about 6 months. I just would like to know how much other Lowes employees receive per hour. I am trying to get a part time position. My friend gets 9.50 at home depot but he has only 1 yr of customer service. The store is located in NJ in a wealthy area.

Lowes Home Improvement? Has anyone not been in a Lowes store? I was in my local Lowes recently and I was amazed at how many ppl didnt know where anything was a man in his 30's asked a manager where he could find a pair of pliers and a few screw drivers while standing by customer service - The two big Tool World signs hanging nearby was a big indication he knew nothing about the store. Another woman asked if they had cat food, and another asking where the childrens toys were. How many people have never been in a Lowes?
Lowes Home Improvement Coupons 10% off Can anyone tell me where to get one? Recently, I keep seeing these Lowes Coupons for 10% off that expire in May 2008. When you try to get them, you have to sign up for lowes.moving then you have to wait till they come in the mail. Or there is a website that wants you to pay them $3.99 per coupon and they will email you the coupon. There are no coupons on Couponmountain 007 or anything else. Even Ebay are selling them...it looks like they came in an ad or something like that. I need something rather quickly. Does anyone know where I can find this coupon?
Why Lowes Home Improvement Have Thin Plastic Bags Lol? My boyfriend and I always shop at Lowe's in Virginia in the Richmond area. They have these very thin plastic bags that, when putting sharp hand tools and nails in them, it started to tear holes in the bag. I mean very very thin plastic like the plastic wrap lol. Still not strong when double bagged. I guess they trying to be cheap ordering these kinds of cheap flimsy bags. Lowe's should have stronger bags perhaps like paper bags or, one of those re-usable bags lol. No hardware stores should have cheap plastic bags. It's a hardware store! Use common sense lol! I just want to share this with you all on yahoo answers.:)

Would I learn about DIY home improvement if I work at Home Depot or Lowe's over the weekend? I want to buy a house in the next few years, and I want to learn to do some home improvements and upgrades on my own. Right now, I don't know any. I was wondering if working at Home Depot or Lowe's would help me. What are some other options to learn about DIY home improvements? I don't really learn too well by watching tutorials on internet. I need to actually do it to learn. Thanks
Which home improvement retailer is better Lowe's or Home Depot? I've always like Lowe's better. The service is better and it's cleaner. Plus they price match if anyone has a lower price they will beat it by 10% or match it exactly if its a sale. But I was wondering what everyone else thinks... what do people see in Home Depot?
Does Lowe's Home Improvement always charge you a dollar or so too much when paying with Credit Card? I purchased an item for 24.49 and my statement showed up at 25.49. Is this happening to everyone and if so what should we do about it? Ok I was charged an additional dollar on my statement AFTER taxes... I do understand the concept of taxes when purchasing an item. So yea the statement is showing 25.49 and my receipt is for 24.49. This is the 2nd time it's happened in a row and I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this as well....
why do the answerers here answer home improvement questions with "go to home depot or lowes"??? really, i think if someone has a computer and internet, then i'm sure they know those places exist. as a tradesman, i don't shop there and most of my customers wouldn't hire me if i did. not everyone in the US builds temporary crap ya know. why even answer a question if that's all you have to say? people get just as bad advise here about home improvement as they get from the flunkies at the big boxes. are you getting sales commissions from them? all of the trades have suffered since the opening of those stores. in order to keep up with the increased production demands, tool and material companies lowered the quality considerably. now, professionals can't buy anything that is sold at one of those stores even somewhere else cause the quality is gone. no-one that works there knows much about home improvement or they would be working somewhere else. people come here looking for real advise not for you to read ads back to them. o.k. i'm not talking about sending someone to a big box to buy stuff but using the big-boxes to answer questions. yes, i'm completely against shopping at big boxes because i look at the big picture not just my own personal conveinence but i'm hardly trying to argue that with 99.9% of america. and most "contractors" are out to get your money unlike the craftsmen that we used to call. marketing is why you seem to have answers knocking at your door. truth requires one to seek it. just frustrated myself because i'm not here to pride myself on my "worldly knowledge" but instead i spend a lot of time and effort trying to help people with things i know from experience. i stay away from the questions i can't answer truthfully cause again i'm trying to help. then every time i click on a question, i see more bad answers than good. this is why i don't ask questions and i feel for the people who are going to follow bad advise.
How far back does Lowes go when they conduct background checks for potential zone managers? I was hired for a zone manager position for at Lowes home improvement. I had a felony conviction 10 years ago. Is there a Florida state law that only allows employers to look back 7-10 years, or do they conduct a "life" background check? I am waiting for the results of the test now & obviously can't ask how far they go back. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS FROM PEOPLE WHO CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS, LAWYERS OR RECENTLY HAD ONE DONE. THANK YOU!
Why is it that consumers go to home improvement centers when..? Why is it that consumers go to home improvement centers like home depot or lowe's when the home improvement centers just subcontract their work out to local contractors. Are we not smart enough to know that these home improvement centers put an upcharge on labor etc.. Why don't we use yahoo locals to find our local contractors ourselves and save ourselves some money and help the smaller business's in our communities?
Where should we register - Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears? We want to register at a store that carries tools and home improvement merchandise. Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears are the hardware stores in our area that have have registries. Has anyone had positive or negative experiences with the registries at these stores? Which store would you recommend? Menards isn't an option. They have a registry, but it's only for the store you register at. It's not connected in any way to other Menards locations.
What questions should i ask at an interview? I have an interview tomorrow morning for a part time cashier position at Lowes Home Improvement. What questions should I ask the interviewer? Is it ok to ask about the turnover rate?
Working for Lowes? I was wondering what Lowes Home Improvement pays (Preferrably someone who works in central Arkansas), what kind of discount you get on store merchandise, and full-time benefits? Thanks.
Finding the best price for installing tile? Can someone recommend how to get the best price for installing tile? Should I go with a home improvement store (Lowes or Home Depot), a flooring company (Carpet 1 or Empire), or any other ideas? Lowes charges $6.50 per square foot for installation, is this normal pricing? We are moving into a house next month, and would like to have ceramic tile installed in the bathroom and possibly kitchen. Right now there is vinyl in those rooms.
Are Home Depot and Lowes as good a place as any to buy Silestone countertops? I know you can get granite counters from other sources cheaper but since Silestone is a manufactured product it doesn't seem to be easy to find other places that carry it. It is phenomenally expensive at the big home improvement stores. I am dead set on using it and the price flips me out just a little. I'll pay it if I have to but I don't want to. Jack, That little link to find a dealer is just what I need. Thanks!
What are the differences between a cheap water softener from a home improvement store and an expensive one? Didn't really have room for the entire correct question in the title... I'm planning on getting a water softener for my home and am having problems understanding where companies such as Culligan get their prices. The house is pre-plumbed. I feel very confident that I am 100% capable of installing a system on my own. I know the quality of my water and know what I am looking for in a water conditioning system. (At least I think I know what I am looking for) I can go to a store like Home Depot or Lowes and buy some water softener that looks like a little trash can (the membrane and the salt storage are a single unit). I would have to install this myself and if I wanted to do it properly get the permits from the city. (Supposedly I have to do this because if I don't install backflow protection I can backflow my membrane into the municipal supply. This is what Culligan told me, I haven't independently verified it.) The unit only costs about $500 though. Just to see what they would charge, I had Culligan come out and give me a free estimate. They have the systems that look a little more "sturdy" with a separate salt storage unit and one of those membranes that looks like a compressed air cylinder. Their system cost about $3500. There might be a little difference on some of the bells and whistles, like auto-regeneration and other items, that I would pay much closer attention to when I am deciding on a unit. But what is the big difference between these units?? Is Culligan just trying to overcharge because they are Culligan? Is their unit going to last 7 times as long as the big box retailer's unit? I know my parents had an expensive "Culligan-esque" softener installed in their home 15 years ago and they have never had any maintenance done and it still works perfectly... It is just so tempting for me to only spend $500-$600 and do the work myself. Any thoughts or personal experience would be very much appreciated.
Can anybody tell me what this plant is called? Here's a photo: http://idisk.mac.com/rmacton-Public/no.name.2.jpg I either got it from IKEA or one of the home improvement stores like Lowes or Home Depot. I'd like to know which plant this is so I can learn about what its needs are and such. Thanks!
Inexpensive home improvements? I would like to change the interior doors of my house for paneled doors. Home depot or Lowes sells them pre-hung for about $50 for a 24'. Any suggestions on where I can buy this type of stuff for cheaper? I have about 6 doors I would like to replace so it will add up. I would also like to change my front door for a black steel one...any suggestions on where I could get a good deal on that? Thanks in advance!
where can i buy a toilet with built in bidet? Theres a website from texas, i called and left a message, no reply and i emailed them, no reply neither. was wondering also if lowes or some home improvement store will special order for me? Thanks
dogs at Lowes? ok today i went to Lowes (for anyone that doesnt have a local Lowes its a home improvement store) and this man had his dog in there (idk bout where yall live but here in Tennessee we're allowed to take our pets in Lowes) and it was not on a leash but it was very well behaved it was following him around and not bothering anyone she was letting everyone pet her and she was a rat terrier! but dont u think she should have at least been on a leash? i mean for just in case...im not tryin to be mean about it or anything but anything could happen...even for the dogs safety...she could have gotten run over by one of those lifting things! i think its ok to take them places that they allow pets but i just think for other peoples safety and the dogs safety she should have been on a leash well its ok to put em in a buggey...i agree with that...but this dog was walkin around
Home improvement stores...? I am remodeling a small kitchen for a rental of mine. I need everything. Base Cabinets, wall cabinets, countertops, a sink, stove/oven, frig., flooring. My thing is i don't want to spend alot of money on the remodel. Does Home depot and/or Lowe's have a as-is room? Like at furniture stores they have a room in the back that has furniture that has a little sometimes unnoticeable stain or rip and they sell it for way less. I was wondering if Lowes or HD keeps their mistakes or damaged products and sells them for less? If not does anybody know were they go? Also, If you know any other places/websites where i could get some cheap cabinetry and appliances? I have tried the habitat for humanity stores and i love them but they don't have much at the moment. Any other stores out there like H4H?
DO you think the Christmas trees at the hardware? stores and grocery stores are the same ones provided by the roadside folks selling them,. I mean they have to come from somewhere but I'm wondering which would be fresher Example. like Lowes home improvement has them for 30.00 but joe bobs christmas forrest has them for 50.00. Do you think they are from the same place?
