What's the safest home exercise equipment when you have very young children in the house? When one has young children (under the age of three), one obviously ends up spending a good deal of time at home & it's difficult to get to the gym. However, most treadmills and exercise bikes have moving parts that are dangerous for small, curious toddlers. Is there home exercise equipment out there that is child-safe, or ways to better child-proof home exercise equipment you already have?
Best at home exercise equipment? Okay, so as most of you may know summer is here and I need to work out some more. Invest £280 in a gym for 7 months or basic home exercise equipment? Hello! I am off to Uni after the summer and in the build up to that I wanted to get into a shape as I have not looked after my body as well as I used to. Currently just very skinny and left with little upper body muscle where I used to be very athletic etc after a few to many years hooked on computer games. The question is, should I invest £280 in a gym for 7 months where I will guidance etc however may only be able to attend 2-4 times a week. Or personal equipment such as weights which I can use whenever within the comfort of my own space but I may not push myself as hard at home? Equipment may also come in handy over Uni unless of course they offer free gym membership... If personal equipment, any particulars that would be advised? I was looking at things like: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0103536/c_1/1|category_root|Sports+and+leisure|14419152/c_2/3|15701400|Home+gym+equipment|14419293/c_3/4|cat_14419293|Other+gym+equipment|14419296/Trail/searchtext%3EGYM.htm http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0107642/c_1/1|category_root|Sports+and+leisure|14419152/c_2/3|15701400|Home+gym+equipment|14419293/c_3/4|cat_14419293|Fitness+accessories|14419308/Trail/searchtext%3EGYM.htm However I am very much clueless and any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Listed "weight capacity" of home exercise equipment - realistic or overprotective? I'm a heavy (350-to-375-ish) person looking to get a recumbent stationary bike for exercise, and I'm finding that pretty much all of the reasonably-priced models seem to list "weight capacities" of between 250 and 300 lbs, if they list one at all. So I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me some idea of how realistic these weight limits actually are. Are they basically just there to protect the manufacturer from possible lawsuits or claims of "poor workmanship"? (If it's actually a serious issue, why are there some models that don't bother to specify a limit?) When someone who is over the limit uses the equipment.. are we talking "It could fall to pieces without warning and leave you lying on the floor with a broken leg"? Or more like "It will wear out faster with regular use and might need to be replaced in 5 years instead of 10"? I mean, I never ask what the weight limit of, say, an office chair is before I sit down in it, and I don't exactly go around breaking office chairs by sitting in them...
What's the BEST home fitness/exercise equipment? excluding the jogging machine thing.. I'm looking for machine/large equipment recommendations [i.e. not just weights or tapes] Price isn't necessarily my concern, I'm looking for maximum toning and weight loss is always a plus...

What is the best exercise I can do at home without any equipment to tone my inner thighs? I don't have much equipment at home so what can I do to tone them in the comfort of my own lounge? I do have ankle weights though! Oh and don't bother suggesting a diet, just literally want an exercise technique to tone inner thighs. Look forward to your answers! :)

Home Exercise Gym Equipment? My husband and I are cancelling our membership due to me being laid off from my job and his hours being cut to part time. We've been working out 4-6 times a week since the beginning of the year but we can no longer afford the $100/month membership. We've decided that we'd like to set up a gym in our basement and we'll put it on our credit card since it will just be a one time charge, not monthly like the gym. We have a treadmill already but that's it. What other equipment should we get? We need to stay cheap since we're on very low income now but we also want to make sure we can get results. Suggestions, websites, exercise plans.. anything helps!
Good home exercises without using equipment? I'm looking for a few good exercises to do in the comfort of my own home without having to go out and buy equipment. The ole push ups, sit ups, and crunches just arent enough to really do much.
