What is a good site for skin care product reviews? I know drugstore.com and makeupalley.com already.
Is there an Australian beauty product review website? On www.makeupalley.com, there is a section called "Product Reviews", where consumers review their beauty products. I was wondering if there is an Australian site out there for products sold in Australia. Thanks.
Does anybody know of some good makeup and/or beauty product review sites? You know where people review beauty products, how good it is, etc. A site like makeupalley.com , I just want to know if there's more sites like that. :) Thanks!
What happens to your skin if you use alcohol and menthol related products? I bought a new toner based on this reviews ----> http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp?itemid=59572 Alcohol and menthol is in this product. I'm using this currently. It does stings a bit and makes my eyes watery. But other then that i don't have any problem with this. I heard drinking alcohol is bad. But applying on skin? What about that?
What in the world does "HG" mean? I've been reading product reviews on Makeupalley.com and I see people using "HG" a lot. What does HG mean? Examples of use: "aussie hair insurance is my HG" and "Sell advanced night repair to everyone. Huge HG."
Where can I buy urban decay make up products in australia? the rave reviews for their products on make up alley http://makeupalley.com/product/searching.asp?x=y&CategoryID=0&brandname=urban+&brand=450&title=&GO.x=0&GO.y=0 have really got me interested. Anyone know where I can buy this stuff?
Are the Sally Beauty connecting eye shadow compacts good? Are the Sally Beauty connecting eye shadow compacts good? I’ve just discovered them on MakeupAlley.com (love this site!) in the product reviews seciton and they got good reviews, I mean they are only $0.89 with the Sally beauty card, and $0.99 without, but I need more opinions since there weren’t enough reviews on the site. I just need some basic information, like how long it lasts, colors, color payoff, texture, etc. any help would be great! thanks in advance! <3
Queen Helene Masque Mud Pack, How long should it be left on? Today I bought the Mint Julep mask which instructs to leave the mask on for fifteen minutes. Today, while on MakeupAlley, I saw this product and read reviews on it. Some users left the mask on an hour, others lefts it on overnight. What does the bottle recommend? Or does it not...?
anyone tried the cocoa butter creme from queen helene? Just thought I'd let you guys know it's the best cocoa butter I've ever tried! It smells amazing and is super creamy. It's designed to be used on the face and the body and it's smoothing out my facial scars and it's also made my face like supppperrr soft! You can use it for your stretch marks too (obvsly!) I just thought everyone should know since it's not talked about much on youtube and I don't even see too many reviews on makeupalley and I really love this product!
Has anyone used Avalon Organic products? I've been reading many good reviews about their products on Makeupalley, I just wanted some more opinions before I go out and splurge 40 dollars on several of their things, especially if someone had a few bad experiences.
Before you buy products where do you go to check reviews? well I've been looking for a really good moisturizer to help relieve the slight redness in my cheeks I was using the eucerin redness relief but I find that it has been clogging my pores like crazy and makes my complexion blotchy and red. I was thinking of getting the aveeno ultra-complexion daily moisturizer and the moisturizing cleanser and on amazon the reviews are good and on makeupalley they are crappy. So I'm beginning to become very hesitant so i was wondering where do you guys go to check reviews before purchasing a product? Also if you have used these products I would love to here what you have to say about it
Why would a company put out a new product and not put it on the website? Possibly testing it out to public? The title probably sounds really confusing, but, really, it isn't. I will use lip balm as an example because it is cheap and easy to understand. By the way, ***10 POINTS*** Chapstick Moisturizer doesn't have a flavor, but that product from Chapstick is known to branch out and make different flavors of Chapstick Moisturizer. They have a Vanilla Mint Chapstick Moisturizer, for example. My mother went out to get a Chapstick for herself (I went through a huge fad with them this summer, honestly now I can say Chapstick brand feels like car wax and doesn't soak in and moisturize) and she came back with a Green Apple Chapstick Moisturizer. I checked the website, it wasn't on, but in a week or so, it was added. Here is a more recent one. I love Burt's Bees lip balms, and am proud to say that I have tried every single one but 3 (they literally have TONS of different kinds). I saw a review on Makeupalley for Burt's Bees Grapefruit lip balm, and it wasn't on the website, so I just thought the person got confused about it. I went to Target on vacation and saw it, and assumed that they added a new one-Grapefruit. Of course I got it. Looking on Makeupalley, 3 more reviews to the 1, and on Burt's Bees, it had not been added. On a review of it, it said "It isn't on the website yet, so they must be testing it, I hope they decide to keep it for real." Soooo..... Are they testing out to see if they want to make it permenant, or waiting for it to be in surplus in stores before they announce it on the website? Thanks. <3 :)
Do you look at makeup reviews before buying makeup? i always do b/c they're usually accurate & it saves a lot of $ when you dont buy products that wind up being c.rap that you wind up throwing away lol ... i LOVE makeupalley.com for makeup reviews
anyone ever use products by LUSH. I know they are out of Canada, wonder if stores in USA sell LUSH? I want to buy the Flying Fox Temple Balm .. Every use it? . I am finding lots of great product reviews at http://www.makeupalley.com check it out! But lots of products I have not heard of and finding them is a challenge.
How well does "Color Oops Extra Strength" work? My hair's been colored black for the past 6 months. I'm sick of it; it's a really high-maintenance hair color. I'd really just like to get rid of most of the black and color it a medium brown shade. The reviews on makeupalley.com were good, but i want to hear your opinion of the product.
Who's been to Makeupalley.com? http://www.makeupalley.com/? http://www.makeupalley.com/ it's a great website...there are REViEWS on every makeup product out there! found out about this website from someone's answer on here and just wanted to pass on the great resource! and they're reviews from people like us...not paid testimonials by fake people. i LOVE this site...because too often ...i buy something to try it out...and it won't work out....like right now i'm looking for a new mascara..[i'm such a sucker for the ads...but i look on the website and people are like...no that is so clumpy and smudges like no other....and they list the great ones] so yeah.. good lucK!
Origins mint wash cleanser for oily/combination skin...? I've heard mixed reviews about this product and i want to know your oppinion. I was reviewing this product on makeupalley and it wasnt too good but when i checked different reviews on different websites, they said that it was amazing. i really dont know what to think. I have combination skin but with summer coming along im sure my face will be very oily. thanks for helping! :D
skin care product/ make up review website? does anybody know any other good skin care or make up review website? I know makeupalley.com is a good one .
What lotion should i use with dermadoctor's 'ain't misbehavin' cleanser? So i think i'm going to try this one out. I looked at some reviews on makeupalley, and a lot of ppl say it's pretty drying (as most acne products often do). so i was wondering if anyone has tried this, and if so, what they used to combat the harsh effects it has on the skin. should i use dermadoctor's moisturizer, or is a cheaper alternative acceptable? suggestions, please and thank you!
Hard Candy Glow All The Way Glamazon Bronze? Has anyone tried it? There aren't that many reviews of it on makeupalley, so I just wanted to see more opinions. I have NC-35-37 skin, I just wanted a luminizer for my legs for summer. I already think that the other shade, Tropical Tan looks too dark. Is it a good product?
Where can I find Eye Dream Lift eye cream? I have read some great reviews on www.makeupalley.com about Eye Dream Lift but can't find whee you buy or order the product? Anyone know how to get? Thanks.
Are there any websites where people can review hair products? Like makeupalley.com does for cosmetics. Anyone know any websites like that but you can review hair products?
Pink nails with white tips? I want to know if this would look okay before I try it. Pink nails with white tips, like a french manicure but pink instead of nude. Here is the pink: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=96239/Wild_Shine_in_Mauve_Frost_410A/Wet_n_Wild/Polishes Here is the white: http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Wet_n_Wild_Wild_Shine_Nail_French_White_Creme_449C Any tips or suggestions would help :)
Did Everyday Minerals cause breakouts or not for you? I've searched reviews on MakeupAlley.com, and their seems to be mixed feelings. Some say it helps breakouts, others say they worsen. What's the quality? I'm looking to order samples of the Matte Formula, if that helps but an answer from anyone who has used any of their products would be great!
Do you plan your makeup buying or go on a whim? I buy like REALLY cheap products (Wet n Wild, ELF, etc) on a whim but check out the overall rating on makeupalley and a few other reviews for things like Covergirl, NYX, ecotools, etc). For expensive things like MAC and Urban Decay I think about it for a week or more and check out plenty of reviews. It took me maybe 3 months for me to have the courage to buy the UD Naked palette!
Should I choose Revlon Lipstick or Lipgloss? Both of these have great reviews. Lipgloss: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=40977/Super_Lustrous_Lipgloss_-_Nude_Lustre/Revlon/Lip_Gloss Lipstick: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=4576/Super_Lustrous/Revlon/Lipstick I want to choose one or the other. I want to use one of these for a casual every day look, nothing too striking, but something that's subtle-y sexy and pretty. I have medium tan asian skin. The links are being weird. ): They're the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss. I can't decide. Lipgloss seems more casual, but lipgloss tends to come off really easily. Lipstick seems like it'll stay on comfortably and give me nice color, but it might be too formal...?
why is MAC makeup so special? ok i don't get it. People are so obsessed about MAC cosmetics, but then when I look up reviews for their products on makeupalley and such, they get pretty below-average reviews. whats with all the hype then?! someone fill me in please lol
Why in God's name are you ladies asking questions about Makeup Here? You can all go to www.makeupalley.com and there are whole forums devoted to everything from skin care makeup, fashion, fitness etc etc There is also a product review database that everyone contributes to. You are absolutely wasting your time here. OH and you get your answers faster. This is not an Add I'm a member, I just saw that everyone was asking their questions here and I was wondering why in gods name they would do that when there is a far better FREE source www.makeupalley.com
CeraVe AM spf 30 face lotion? anyone use this new product? i've looked at reviews on makeupalley.com and seems as though this product causes irritation.

What happened to makeupalley.com? this was a review/trading site for beauty products. Every time I've tried to visit recently, I get a message saying the site is down for routine maintenance...
Eye primer similar to urban decay eye primer potion? Are there any eye primers similar to Urban Decay? I have this one now. I love it. It makes my eye shadow stay on forever and brighter. how ever i hate the bottle its in. the wond squeezes up the primer and it wastes it. I just hate that. It doesn't come with much and it costs around $20. So for it to waste like it does, bugs me lol I've tried Mary Kays eye primer. I don't like it at all. and I read on Makeupalley.com from the reviews on this product that the eye primer by Too Face sucks too. So i don't think i'll be trying that one. Are there any eye primers like UDEP, but in a better package and for maybe a little cheaper?
Is the LA Girl Essential Brush Set any good? This is the link: http://www.cherryculture.com/cosmetics/makeup/products/la-girl-5-piece-essential-brush-set/17362 I can't find any reviews on makeupalley.com, yahoo answers, or even google! Has ANYONE tried it? Because these are the exact brushes I need, and for a cheap price. So if you bought them, please tell me if they are good brushes. Thanks!
Talc-free equivalent to Coty Airspun Powder? I bought this product today after reading some great reviews on makeupalley. It was only after buying it that I noticed the first ingredient listed is talc. I was told by a friend that I should avoid talc products and this prompted me to do my research. Now that I am aware of the harm it can cause, I certainly would like to avoid it. However (somewhat unfortunately), the powder looked great. I also purchased Covergirl CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer today, which, if all goes well, I will be using it to set. I have sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin and would love to find a product that will keep me less oily without having to reapply constantly. In the past I have used Bare Minerals mineral powder, Clinique pressed powder, Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder, and Neutrogena Healthy Skin pressed powder. They have all worked alright, but I usually find myself powdering my face numerous times throughout the day, and, with my fairly oily skin and the incredibly humid climate I live in, the makeup tends to seep into my larger pores and have sort of a blotchy, cracked look on my nose and chin. I liked the Coty Airspun Powder for the brief time I had it on because it was translucent and controlled my oil while still looking very natural. Can anyone recommend a similar product? Or even something entirely different, I'm open to any suggestions. Perhaps some sort of mattifying primer would be a better solution? Thanks!
i have a rash on my face what could t be from? yesterday, i took off my makeup only to reveal a skin rash. it looked like i got too much sun.... witch could be the case seeing i was outside all day, but i really doubt it because it wasnt sunny, and i didnt get tanned or burnt on my arms. here is a list of things that are new to me in the past month. idk if they would help, but here they are nayways :p -new facial mouse (iv been wearing it for 2 weeks...) http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ID=52418/Dream_Matte_Mousse/Maybelline/Foundations/ - new eyeliner and maskara as of yesterday http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ID=47109/liquid_eyeliner/Aziza/Eyeliner/ http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ID=63908/Magic_Lashes/Aziza/Mascara/ i did read the reviews and i would like to point out that it is my cheaks, forhead, and chin that is red... not my eyes! i wore no makeup today, and nothing has improved. any ideas? thanks for your help!
Where can I find the L'oreal Jelly lip balm? I don't like to wear a lot of makeup and want to stay simple and fresh. I really like how this lip balm has good reviews, but I know for sure I won't find it at shoppers drug mart of wal-mart in Canada. So where can I find it besides online? http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=107361/HIP_Jelly_Balm/L_Oreal/Lip_Gloss I heard it's really similar to the M.A.C. ones, but I really don't want to pay the M.A.C. price when I can get it drugstore price.
Why don't people like the Maybelline Silk Shadow Quad? I've seen bad reviews online about it. It's really high quality, it goes on smoothly, the pigmentation is great and it blends really easily. What's the fuss? http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=128440/Eye_Studio™_Color_Plush™_Silk_Eyeshadow/Maybelline/Eye_Shadow Hey Natalie, I like the Loreal Hip ones too and they're so fun to wear! Oh Something Beautiful I love you beautiful face and accent! Oh Beatles, with primer it does show up good! Thanks for the answer!
Which is better: MAC or Clinique eyeliners? I'm planning to buy either the clinique brush on cream eyeliner or the MAC fluidline. But i'm so confused. I know they're both the same but I need to know your opinions about these products. I checked makeupalley.com and I noticed there were more great reviews on the clinique one but some ppl also say MAC is better. Also I heard the mac one tends to dry up faster than the clinique and it's not as dark. Which one has more staying power and is easier to take off after the day?
Is it true that companies reformulate products so they can be sold at stores like WalMart? Somebody wrote a review on here about the Neutrogena Liquid Facial Cleanser: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=2852/Liquid_Neutrogena_Facial_Cleansing_Formula/Neutrogena/Cleansers "...Do NOT buy this product at Wal Mart, as it is very obvious to me it is a different and inferior formula. Yes, companies do reformulate products so it can be offered at Wal Mart at a lower price, and this is a prime example. It was watery and had an odd citrus smell, yuck." Fact or fiction? Examples? Has something like this happened to you before?
Is mario badescu a good skincare line? I am a 16 year old girl with combination oily skin and have yet to find a good skin care line that works for me. I have read a lot of good reviews about Mario Badescu on Makeupalley.com and have decided to post this question on yahoo to get one last opinion before buying the products that were recomended for me. Please reply if you think this skin care line is worth buying.
Has anyone heard of double eyelash curlers that curl your lashes in 2 different places at the same time? Basically its a regular eyelash curler, but it has 2 places for curling your lashes instead of one long bar, so when you close the curler on your lashes, it will curl in two different places, which is supposed to give you a more natural curl. I came across this eyelash curler at walgreens, and thought it was interesting, so when I got home I looked on makeupalley.com for some reviews, and there were only two, so i'm wondering if anyone has one or has heard of them? here's the link: http://www.walgreens.com/store/catalog/Tools-and-Brushes/La-Cross-Lash-Curler/ID=prod5430319&navCount=8&navAction=push-product
Please explain to me why people are so fussy about cosmetics being made in China? I love my make-up and often read makeupalley.com and other sites for reviews before I take the plunge and buy the product. I do this to save time instead of trying an item that say, may not be long-lasting.. and then having to return it. Anyways, I've noticed that some people will say a product is bad just because it is made in China or will write a negative review and say something like, "I knew this product would be bad because it's made in China!!" I have several lipsticks and shadows (and other items) that are "made in China" ranging from brands such as Stila and Smashbox to Coastal Scents. Will somebody please explain to me why people automatically assume when make-up is made in China, it will automatically be bad?? I've experienced "bad" make-up that was made in France, the US, AND China so please tell me why people seem to only think make-up that is made in China will be terrible.. Thanks =)
Too much makeup for a 15 year old? Hi, I'm 15 and I'm thinking about buying some new makeup. As of now I only wear dark brown mascara, but I've always appreciated that natural, flawless, dewy look that some makeup gurus flaunt on Youtube. Of the things I plan to buy, I'm wondering, does this sound like a lot?: ~NYX Concealer Pot concealers (green for acne/redness, orange for *really bad* genetic dark under eye circles, and regular fair shade to hide the the color correctors) - of course I would only use this when needed, and not use a lot ~Milani Multitasker Face Powder - to set the concealer ~NYX Slim eye pencil - in dark brown for a thin natural line ~Milani Blush in Luminous, Jane Blushing Cheeks Blush in Blossom, NYC Blushable Creme Stick in South St. Seashell - I love the look of sheer natural blushes, but I can't choose which ones I want. They all look beautiful on Youtube and have great reviews on Makeupalley, so it's hard. Help choosing please? ~Maybelline Full n' Soft Mascara - I already own this, going to repurchase ~NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Beige - pretty natural color I know it looks like a lot but I added descriptions to all of these. xD If anyone owns any of these products I would love to know what they think and how it works on them. Thanks for reading! =D ALSO another question: Do I really need powder to set the concealer or is it fine on it's own if I blend it out well?
Is it alright if I only use St Ives Apricot Scrub exfoliator for my daily face clean routine? My current routine up till now has always been to cleanse my face with Clearasil's Daily Cleansing Foaming Wash then exfoliate with Clear and Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub. Finally I appy Ponds moisturizing cream (the blue one). I've recently gained quite a bit of acne on my forehead and as I'm continuing my daily face cleaning routine I anticipated for results but nothing has come of it till this day. I don't think the Clearasil product does anything for me. I hear that St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead is an exfoliator that helps people's acne. I'm ready to dump the Clearasil product but I'm not sure about the Clean and Clear exfoliator I've been using up till now. On Makeupalley, I've read several positive reviews but if I buy the Apricot Scrub, it would be my substitute exfoliator right? I'm not sure what's a very good cleanser out there that I could use for acne so I'm really confused. What's an excellent acne removal cleanser by Neutrogena that will surely deliver results?
Wet 'n' Wild Mega Eyes Creme Liner VS. Maybelline Gel Eyeliner? So I went on makeupalley.com to see which one had better reviews, Wet 'n' Wild had more about 400 reviews and Maybelline had only about 100. Both had a 4.5 rating and their percentage for "buying this product again" was only a 1% difference. So that being said... In your experience which one was better? I want to try them since people said that they are similar to MAC Fluidline and Bobbi Brown's. Describe the product, too if you would, thanks!
Is Jordana eyeliner decent? I usually use a Urban Decay pencil eyeliner, cause I like Sephora products, but I've been on a budget and on MakeupAlley.com, in the reviews, people reviewed their eyeliner to be good. Is it actually good? I'm a little scared to use cheap eyeliners because I've tried the Wet N' Wild ones and they are so sticky, it's appalling. I do like Rimmel pencil liners though. So, how does this one compare? Thanks, I love MAC. I was wondering about the quality of Jordana eyeliner pencils, though, sold at drugstores.
Ladies, I need a Matte Bronzer that is NOT SHIMMERY & will not come off the second I touch my face! HELPP!! :) Allright ladies. Here is the deal. I've tried Cover Girl Mineral case and it got EVERYWHERE, plus my fiance said that in the sun I looked like a big piece of glitter. I've looked everywhere, and either it is way to expensive, or it SAYS matte finish, but I still see those glitter pieces inside the bronzer. I asked the lady at Ulta and she was quick to say that most bronzer is like that, which I believe, but there has to be a product that won't make me look A.) Fake B.) Glittery C.) And be extremely messy where its coming off on my hands all day by just itching my skin. I need something that will just contour, I like using bronzer cause I don't like blush, but I want a little color on my temple, my cheek bones, and my nose. Any type of product you ladies can suggest would be great. Please help my make up fiasco!!!! P.S. I already have makeupalley.com, and I've looked everywhere, so if you can suggest a product then I can review it that would be great!! :) OKAY ladies, stuff I can actually buy at Ulta or CVS or Walmart or Target, I don't do online buys and/or I don't prefer Sephora. :) thanks anyways

What's the best drugstore brow/kit? I've checked makeupalley and there are so many brow products that have received good reviews, idk which one to take, lol. I've heard that Revlon, Maybelline, NYC, and Wet 'n' Wild are really good i usually go for a ash brown/taupe shade for my brows which one do you guys recommend most?
The MAC 187 Brush - Worth it for £25? I've seen so many good reviews about this brush .. (http://makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=53057/#_187_Stippling_Brush/MAC/Makeup_Brushes) I asked my mum to get me it and she said she would, but when my nan found out she said it was too much for a brush. Do you think so?
